Froggy for Paint Party Friday

Here's is a little frog aceo for PPF. I cheated and looked at a picture from a mini stain glass craft book. I have to do that to draw anything halfway realistic looking, other wise everything looks like cartoons or petroglyghs, lol. Tomorrow we are going to a gem and mineral show, yipeeeeeeee! Did you all think I would never finish this? C'mon admit it! To tell ya the truth I never thought I would finish it either,lol. Its not finished yet but its almost there. I just have one more final touch to put in that I will show you next time. For now here it is with a couple pictures of my friend BJ's lizard gourd. Check out her Etsy store on the sidebar. Super Bowl Sunday and Paint Party Friday

Ok , so I was saving this one for Super Bowl weekend in the hopes that the 49ers would be there. Well, they almost made it,right?! This little guy was my Christmas gift to our production manager, Gordon, a big San Fransisco fan. The G can be for Gordon or Geckostone, take your pick. Happy Superbowl and PPF, yahooooo TOUCHDOWN!!!

Hello all you fellow Lizzy lovers and PPFers ( a day early if yer peeking!) I couldn't resist after seeing some of you choosing a word to live by for the New Year. The one that came to mind for me was "Trust", so I did this little aceo last weekend for PPF.

Whew this little guy partied like crazy last Sat!!! And he didn't even get a hangover! Me on the other hand spent New Years Eve and the whole weekend staying home with a nasty cold. Jeff wasn't too happy about that, or the fact that he has my cold now. C'mon everyone, join me in a rousing, " ahhhhhh, poor babe." OK yeah , he feels much better now! Anyway at least it forced me to slow down after the holiday mad race and just watch TV and paint, paint paint. So I did this little party gecko and I even got to get back to work on the ole skink ( stay tuned in the next few weeks hopefully he'll be ready to show off his new colors!) Thanks for all your great comments last time and BJ thanks you for all the wonderful compliments on her gourds! Happy PPF and Happy 2012 !

Iguanas in the Christmas Tree and BJ's Gourds

Who let the iguanas out of the cage? Now they are havin' a party in the Christmas tree!!! Actually this happened in real life in the 80s when I let them have the run of my apartment. I came home one day from work to find all three of them in my Christmas tree with several balls broken on the ground, grrrrr!!! I took advantage of the oportunity though and photographed them for the following year's cards. I don't have the photos anymore so I thought I'd paint an aceo to show you the scene!

This week I would also like to introduce you all to my friend BJ who paints these wonderful gourds. She wants to join us on Paint Party Friday but has no website or blog yet ( but she is working on that!) so I told her I would show her art here this week! BJ has Parkinsons which makes her work even more amazing to me!( I hope she doesn't mind me telling you that. ) Her detail is exquisite!
